What does he feel for me? The cards' answer

It is the question most often brought to the tarot, and the one that answers worst to a yes or a no. The four cards do not sign a verdict: they show what kind of feeling is there, how deep it runs, and what is holding it still or pushing it forward.

Why «do they love me or not» is not enough

Reducing the question to a yes or a no is convenient, but it says very little about what is actually happening between two people. A feeling rarely arrives on its own: it can coexist with fear, distance, indecision, nostalgia or desire — and all of these can be true at the same time.

The four-card reading works precisely on this layering: it does not just say whether a feeling exists, it describes what kind it is, how much space it takes up, and what prevents it from becoming a concrete gesture.

Feeling, thought and intention are not the same thing

This is the most important distinction in the whole reading. Feeling is what emotionally ties one person to another: affection, attachment, desire, tenderness. Thought is mental presence, which can exist even without feeling. Intention is what a person is genuinely willing to do — and it is the rarest level.

The four positions of the spread separate these planes: the emotional situation, the obstacle blocking it, the key to reading it and the direction it is moving in. So the answer is not «they love you / they don't», but a picture that lets you decide what to do.

The cards that speak of feelings

Two of Cups. A bond being born or recognised between equals: mutual attraction, harmony, an encounter that works.

Ace of Cups. A feeling opening up, often new or renewed: emotional availability even before any declaration.

The High Priestess. A feeling that is present but unspoken: reserve, waiting, something ripening in silence.

The Moon. Confusion, fear, a feeling the person themselves struggles to recognise. Next to the Sun, it tells of a confusion that is about to clear.

Frequently asked questions

Can tarot tell what someone feels for me?
The cards do not read minds: they describe the emotional climate of the bond, the kind of feeling in play and what favours or blocks it. It is a symbolic picture of the relationship, not objective proof of what is in someone's head.
Which cards indicate a true feeling?
The Two of Cups speaks of a bond forming between equals, the Ace of Cups of a feeling opening up, the High Priestess of something deep but unspoken, the Lovers of a sentimental choice. No card is read alone: position and dialogue with the others matter.
If they think about me, does it mean they love me?
Not necessarily. Thought, feeling and decision are different levels: someone can think about you often without being ready to take a step. The reading exists precisely to separate what they feel from what they are willing to do.
What is the best question to ask?
An open question that explores feeling and obstacle together: «what do they feel for me, and what keeps them from showing it?» says far more than a yes or a no. Closed questions produce thin answers; open ones produce a layered reading.
